The Secrets of Rich and Wealthy Communities

© Mahaveer Sanglikar

Some specific communities are richer and wealthier, having a higher per capita income. Most of the members of such communities live in luxurious homes, they have luxurious cars, they enjoy their life at full, their children learn in the best schools of the city. At the same time, they pay taxes, create employment and do charity work.

On the other hand, some specific communities are poor, they have a very lower per capita income. Most of the members of such communities live in slums or small and rented homes, their children learn in the free schools run by local government bodies, they do not pay income tax, their means of enjoyment is very different from that of the members of rich communities.

Why Some Communities are Richer While Others are Poor? Why an entire community lives above or below the poverty line?

Have you read Robert Kiyosaki's book Rich Dad Poor Dad? Kiyosaki has clearly shown the difference between the attitude of rich people and poor people. The same principles apply to the members of the rich communities and poor communities. But when we think about why an entire community is rich or poor, we find some different reasons, which make a community rich, super-rich, or poor.

Here I am discussing some reasons behind the richness or poverty of the communities.

Education
A higher literacy rate is the most important common factor among all rich communities. According to the various census reports and sample surveys in the various parts of the world, most of the members of rich communities are well educated or highly educated. Higher literacy gives more opportunities for employment at higher positions in the private and public sectors.

In the USA, Jews, Whites, Hindus, and Jains have a higher literacy rate while blacks, Native Indians and Hispanics have a lower literacy rate. Now, the first group of people is well-to-do or richer and most of the billionaires and multimillionaires in the United States are from this group. On the other hand, most of the people belonging to the latter group are comparatively very poor and many are living below the poverty line.

In India, a higher literacy rate is seen in Jains, Sikhs, Christians, Parsis and upper-class Hindus. No wonder that these groups of people are well-to-do or richer, and most of the richest Indians belong to them.

Another thing I noticed is those rich communities are not just well-educated, but they are educators as well. In India, the above-mentioned groups of people have established many educational institutions, right from primary education to high schools, colleges and even universities.

All rich communities have their own funds to help the students belonging to their own communities, as well as for the students from other communities.

Inheritance
Most of the people of rich communities get wealth in inheritance. The assets and money is passed to the next generations. Thus the inheritors become richer and wealthier. This is contrary to poor communities, where most people do not have any assets or big money to pass to the next generations.

Even if a person in a rich community is not rich, he is well-to-do and always looking for bigger material success. So if a person does not get much in inheritance, he manages to become rich, and then his assets are passed to the next generation.

Business Orientation and Business Network
A high percentage of the people belonging to rich communities are business-oriented. As business is money-making, these people make it at a large scale. To get more opportunities in business, these people become a part of the network of business people. This leads them to co-operation with each other.

Business networks are created on a personal level as well as from social clubs and organizations.

In bigger businesses run by rich communities, most of the key people like managers, authorities etc. are selected generally from their own communities. This habit generates high-paid jobs for community members.

However, not all the members of rich communities are business people. Many of them are professionals like engineers, medicos, CAs, teachers, architects etc. Such professions give huge money.

Many others are working at high-paid key positions like managers and authorities in private and public sectors.

Multiple Income Sources
Most of the members of rich communities like to have multiple income sources. Apart from their main source of income, they have a side business, and/or they have some passive income sources.

Moreover, most of the rich families have 'more than one' earning members.

11 Habits of Rich Communities

Here are some of the habits of most of the members of rich communities:

● They choose a career that is related to mental work, not a physical one.

● They do not waste their time and life on useless and unproductive activities.

● Their friend circle is up to their level

● They talk less and listen more
